999 manufacturer documents archived locally (2.2 GB): 44 service manuals and bulletins, 26 wiring diagrams and 929 game manuals. The Internet Archive's Arcade Game Manuals collection is fully mirrored — nothing depends on a third-party site staying up any more.

The service bulletin: the most underrated document in repair

A service bulletin is a fix the manufacturer sent to its network because a defect appeared in production. It documents a factory-acknowledged fault, its exact symptom and the modification to apply — something you find nowhere else. Same nature as the Sega 32X fixes transcribed in the console section, which explained a lock-up after an hour of warm-up that was otherwise impossible to find.

What a game manual contains (and why it matters)

Beyond the operating instructions, an original manual very often carries the full DIP settings, the connector pinout, the test procedure, the parts list and the expected voltages. It is the source to cross-reference with the expected clock tables and the schematics on the PCB pages.

Legal status

Manufacturer documents with no explicit licence, kept for preservation of machines out of service for over 25 years — the same position as for the cabinet manuals and schematics already archived here.
