Repair & modernisation (generic 8-bit)¶
- Recap (PSU + board) → Recap; mains RIFA → replace; watch old PSUs (possible over-volt → modern regulated supply).
- Socketed RAM / ROM: substitution; rubber/membrane keyboard: clean / remake.
- TS2068 / TS1000: same traps as the Sinclairs (ULA, membrane, 7805 regulator) → see ZX Spectrum / ZX80/81.
- Modern storage: cassette → audio; community SD interfaces; Gotek for floppy configs.
- Video: RF → composite mod; RGB → OSSC/RGB2HDMI.
