CPS-2 — per-game jumper settings (full reference)¶
Full table of CPS-2 jumper settings for conversions, transcribed in-wiki from the historical reference file jumper_data_settings.xls (Ralph Wallace, 2009-2012). That file is no longer online (dead source) — it is now stored with us: table below and the archived file in the repo.
For the method (how jumpers encode ROM size/type, size → EPROM model), see CPS-2 converts §3.
Legend¶
- S = Short (jumper closed/bridged) · O = Open.
- The string follows the file's original order, in 5 groups separated by
_(jumper banks per socket group). Read left to right. - PAL = the PAL to fit at PAL3 (burn on a GAL16V8): B / D / F / G. The PAL G is the universal one (32 Mbit EPROM method, see §2A); the others match the game's original wiring.
Reminders
- Settings assume 27C1001 (1 Mbit) in sockets 1-2 → reverse for 27C1000.
- PAL G on a rev 3/4 B-board: don't forget the jumper wire (else broken sound).
- After setting: flash the game's keys (or InfiniKey), else suicide screen.
What the table shows at a glance
Of the 41 games, 40 share exactly the same first bank: SOOS — the
C-O-O-C pattern the method describes for a 27C1001 / 27C010 (JEDEC) in
sockets 1-2.
The one exception is Street Fighter Zero (2nd JP version, rare 512 KB EEPROM sub-board), whose first two banks are inverted — exactly the 27C1000 case the reminder above announces. If your first bank does not look like the others, that is where to look before suspecting anything else.

Notes¶
- Many games share the same string (same ROM configuration) — normal.
- Games absent from this list: the file covers the documented conversion targets (the "desirable" games you convert to). For an unlisted game, derive the jumpers from the set's ROM sizes (method §3) — or use a CPS-2 multi.
Sources & attribution¶
- jumper_data_settings.xls — Ralph Wallace (2009-2012), recovered via the
Internet Archive (2021-07-06 snapshot) and archived locally:
files/cps2_jumper_data_settings.xls. - Interpretation: CPS-2 converts §3 jumpers.
Diagrams: cps2-jumpers-*.svg are generated by scripts/svg-cps2-jumpers.py
from the table above, on every run. No string is copied into the script: a second
copy would drift, and drift here means a board set wrong.
Review & corrections
How this space is used
Spotted a wrong value, an outdated procedure, a chip reference that does not match your board? Say so here, with what you observed (model, board revision, serial number, measurement). Every report is cross-checked against a source before anything changes — an unverifiable correction is published as “reported by …, not cross-checked” rather than silently applied.
Reading is open to everyone; posting requires signing in with Discord. Reports from the wiki's declared reviewers are handled first; anyone else's are read too, but go through a human before anything is changed.
